Travel blog day one:

Note that photos will be uploaded to my Picasa: http://picasaweb.google.com/AaronBrownSound/SouthEastAsia_2010#

I began my journey by spending four days getting everything ready. I quickly realized how much there was to do when planning a five week vacation to SouthEast Asia. Thankfully, a few of my friends have been to Thailand before and shared their valuable advice and lessons learned! I'll put up the full list of things I brought later with the results of how it all went.

Today is the day I left for Singapore. I woke up to a beautiful girl laying next to me smiling. That's right, my girlfriend, Monica, was free the day before I left so she stayed the night and gave me a ride to the airport in the morning. This was the best way to kickstart a vacation. I highly recommend it 😊

After finishing my meticulous packing we met my brother and his wife at In & Out burger. With some great American fast food in our stomachs we said our goodbyes and left for the airport. There seems to be a moment where, in the instant of saying goodbye, you can know how much

Will that be the Italian or the French wine... Decisions decisions.... :)
you care about the people you know. It's a shame there aren't really deeper words for I'll miss you.

It's business.... It's business time.

I am absolutely floored that people travel business class on a regular basis. I can't remember ever feeling so pampered. The security line is shorter, the lounge is plush with free drinks and the airplane experience on Singapore Air feels more like a fine dining and movie night experience in bed.

There are more than 60 movies to choose from, the seats convert into beds, the three course meals are fantastic, and the wine and drink list have a large variety and it's all included. As great as it is, I wouldn't want to be the type of person who does it all the time and gets used to such a spoiled plane trip. That being said, I'm loving every second of this flight. I should land in 5 hours. Time to finish my Italian wine and take a quick nap.

There is a brief layover in Seoul, N. Korea. Just enough time to stretch the legs and make it up to another business class lounge for a Johnny walker black and coke. Tasty.

I found it interesting that everyone speaks English first at the airport in Korea. The airport itself looks exactly like an American airport with different languages and the same wares. Now back to board the same plane with a mimosa in hand.

I arrived in Singapore at 1am. Customs let me pass and I got a cab within 10 minutes. The cab driver was very friendly and now here I am in my apartment typing this all up for you to read. I'm off to bed to prepare for work, but the REAL adventures will start soon.

Oh, and I will probably only update this every 3-4 days.
