Diving
I can now proudly announce that Arjuna and Sofus are now Open Water Divers. Congratulations kids!! Well done

We had some really nice dives at Ko Haa Lagoon and Ko Bida. Watching Hawk bill turtles gracefully swim around and small Black Tip Reef Sharks cruising the reefs. Among all the other wonderful creatures that populate our oceans. There are some truly nice diving spots around here and we’re hoping to enjoy a lot more dives during our stay here. And underwater photography looks really fun too.

Pollution
We stopped along the way to the diving spot to pick up some garbage from the waters. Unfortunately there are a lot of garbage floating around here, especially after the windy seasons and it’s very sad to see how we pollute the world we inhabit. Luckily our awareness of our impact on the environment as well as our understanding of the importance of sustainability grows for every day and I sincerely hope we will understand and act/re-act in time to let future generations enjoy the wildlife and nature of this world too and that we learn to live in harmony with the planet as a whole.

Party
One day when we were off to eat we arrived at a big party. The Mayor of Ko Lanta arranges a dinner/karaoke party every fourth year and we stumbled right into this years. Free dinner and drinks for all participating. A very pleasant surprise and a great party even though we didn’t get a word of the speech.

We also visited some local markets and are really starting to enjoy the Ko Lantan ways.

Studies
The literature and study materials from Sofia Distans for the kids has arrived as well and everything has gone very smoothly and nice and I can only highly recommend you to try this if you have the possibility.

The next few days
Now that the dive certifications done we are planning to make a trip around the island for a couple of days on our little motorbikes.
