It's Rich's birthday! Janet called and played him the Beatle's music about "Will you need me, will you still feed me, When I'm 64?" Rich set out for the VA Medical Center here to get some prescriptions refilled. He said it might take all day. Tim and Mary and Madeline had invited us out to Wasilla for dinner, so we surprised them and took them up on the offer! While rich was at the VA and the laundry was cooking, Jean and Nancy went grocery shopping for the next leg of the trip. When rich got doen at the VA, it was 4:00. It DID take all day, but now he's all set until we get home. Thank goodness for Walgreen's all over the country, too. Sadly, we had to say goodbye to Aunt Jean and Marilyn. It was hard to stop hugging.
When we got out to Wasilla, we were aable to set up our camper in their driveway for the night. SoonMary was cooking and picking salad greens from her garden, Tim was grilling chicken, and Madeline was entertaining us with her piano playing. As soon as she had heard we were coming, she had made Rich some brownies for his birthday cake. We gave Madeline her purse, that she had left in our camper, along with three of four other things we found as well. While we waited for the food to cook, we looked at the materials that the school district provided for Madeline to be home-schooled this next year, her sophomore year. She'll need to self-motivate and study hard because the curriculum looks pretty tough! After a yummy dinner, they taught us how to play a dice game called Farkle. We surely did laugh a lot! It turned out to be a great birthday party.
