King John's Castle
The King returned..... Hello - writing this after another evening meal although not at a pub although we wished we had been to the pub.. we went tonight to a restaurant called Davis's and never again even if we lived here yes we're a bit fussy in our old age re food but chili in fish cake? John wasn't happy either with his Irish Stew which was no more than a soup so heading back to the pubs in future while in Ireland.
Yesterday morning we said our farewells to our Adare hosts and ventured onto King John's Castle - so John and I went in and were quite impressed with how it had been restored and how the story was told before taking photos of the outside... John said it was it was HIS castle in a former life.......
We went on to Bunratty Castle and Village - reminded me of Sovereign Hill with the school room, and where they make soaps, woollen jumpers/jackets (very nice!!) and other types of shops as well as the castle itself which was good and heaps of rooms in there to go and see - think there were about 15 rooms as well as the
main hall which had body armor and pictures and information boards with guides explaining the history of what had happened and evolved over the years.
We stopped at a small town called Einnistorm for lunch and it was really lovely - great for a wedding etc as it has beautiful gardens out the front with a dove cote complete with white doves plus natural terraced waterfalls in the background. Just really beautiful. We parked the car near a paddock in the carpark - remember we're in a very small country town - and there were donkeys in the paddocks - one baby donkey - am sure there is a proper name for it, was only two days old and still not quite confident standing up on its own two legs.
We moved on from there to Cliffs of Moher - wow what a crowd there was there!!! Haven't seen that many people at one place since we came to Ireland!!! From a natural environment the locals have made a small area of shops and restaurant built into the nearby cliffs so became a very popular tourist attraction - the cliffs themselves are amazing & would imagine spectacular as

Signing the Treaty at Limerick the sunsets - however we weren't there at the right times to witness this.
Had a bit of trouble finding our B & B near Galway - great hostess there - she was very good and had tea and coffee for us on our arrival and was quite chatty and funny. She suggested a pub in town and of course, as usual took our hosts suggestion very seriously.... was great.
WE slept a bit during our travels on the winding narrow roads... as you need to do and looked at some shops at the small and quaint villages - although hard to get through their extremely narrow streets sometimes and many have their local fairs at this time of the year making it more difficult to get through them.
One of the many things we've found out about Ireland is the small bedrooms & ensuites they call B & Bs - some are very tiny and can't even fit a suitcase into them. Many don't have tea and coffee facilities, hairdryers, laundry or ironing facilities but most do have Wi Fi thank God but don't think we would be doing it this way again but has been
