In the pool on the resort
Arjuna and Sofus has done their first pool dive and diving lesson now and they clearly enjoyed themselves submerged. More theory on Saturday and out to some great diving spots an hour or two from here for the last lessons and exams when the weather permits.

We also decided on which apartment to rent and one motorbike is also settled and we will spend a great deal of time letting the kids test drive the bike and get used to shifting gears. They tried an automatic so far but will need to learn the real thing soon 😉

The pool at the resort today was unbelievable warm, reminded me of the hot springs that you could swim in on the Azores. So I figured I’d better walk down those 20 meters to the beach and cool down a little in the waves of the Andaman sea. No luck with that but swimming in the warm sea during sunset is just amazing and to get knocked down by the waves plain is plain fun.

We have some new neighbours as well. Another Swedish family who also will stay during the fall and their children will attend the same school as well. Slowly slowly more tourists are showing up but it’s just one or two here and there. It is still very quiet here but a nice kind of quiet.

I am doing my best to find all kinds of animals around as well. Birds, bugs, butterflies, lizards and such and there are plenty of all those around. I am trying to get some good photos of as many as possible but it’s been kinda hard so far.

We’ve met a few foreigners who moved here and are making their living supplying mostly tourists with that extra level of quality and service that most tourists gladly pay extra for. A nice German bakery and a super friendly laundry service as well as the usual diving businesses. It seems however that all of the resorts are Thai family owned, mostly for generations back and they are moving from fishing to tourism when the tourists starts to arrive and enjoy their beaches. I’m glad to hear that. Far too many nice beaches have been bought by big companies around the globe and I guess that due to the fact that it is very hard for foreigners to own things in Thailand, most businesses stay in Thai care.
