There's no way we could top yesterday, but we did have a great day! We started out by going to a great used bookstore called the Title Wave to get Aunt Jean a gift certificate so she could buy Uncle Dick some large print books. O course we had to buy other books while we were there. 😊 We drove down the Turnagain Arm again to ride the tramway to the top of Alyeska Ski Resort. On the way we stopped to see if there were any salmon in the streams. We didn't see any, but there were fisherfolk lining the banks. We didn't see anyone catch anything either. Oh, well. Moving on, we rode the tram up to the 2300 foot level near the top of the Mount Alyeska and went into the gift shop/ museum. One of Carol's hopes for the trip was to be where there was still snow in July. She got her wish on the mountain! Even though it had been a little cloudy and drizzly, it was clear enough for a terrific view at the top. Alyeska has skiing from mid-November through Memorial Day and has several double black diamond runs. When we got down again off the tram, we wandered through the beautiful Alyeska Resort hotel and grounds. Our Aunt Jean (who is our mother's sister and only sibling) recommended a restaurant in Girdwood nearby, so we stopped there to eat. It was tasty and looked Alaskan - log cabin, etc.
We decided to take Daisy to visit Uncle Dick when Art and Carol went out to say good-bye. He liked seeing her again.
We spent the evening organizing our photos to share with each other. Then at midnight we had to take Carol and Art to the airport. Sadness! Too short!

My notetaking is bad, because I forgot to mention at the end of yesterday's incredible adventure, we took Carol and Art to see the Wildlife Center, so they, too, could see the Alaskan animals they had not seen in the wild. We only had a half hour to hurry through, but we saw them all. Rich asked a question that had been niggling at his brain, "What's the difference between a reindeer and a caribou?" The answer is that a reindeer is a domesticated caribou that over time has become smaller.

The midnight part reminded me that I left out Art's great adventure on Saturday night! He wanted to play golf at midnight! Rich dropped him off at the Anchorage Golf Course for a 9:30 tee time and picked him up after we took Seth and Vivian and Rowan to the airport that night. What fun!
