As of today, my plans have been solidified for a week long trip to Peru. A dear friend, and my old roommate, Sarah Culter has been living in Peru (Cusco) for just over a year. When she first left for the trip she asked me to come visit her while she was there, and of course I said yes. It is now almost time for her to come back to the states (to get married none the less!) and so my time was short.

I called my cousin Kenji, with whom I traveled to Japan several years ago, and asked if he would be interested. After much juggling with schedules, work, and my Master's project, we finally arrived on a set of dates that would work for us. Here is our itinerary so far:

Houston -> Lima Flight: CO590 July 20th, 3:55pm->10:29pm

Lima->Cusco Flight (Peruvian Airlines) 210 July 21st, 5:45am->7:00am

Cusco->Lima Flight PA 217 July 26th 11:10am->1:10pm

Lima->Houston Flight CO591 11:45pm->6:14am(+1day)

We are all three very excited about this wonderful experience and opportunity. All in all it will be fairly cheap considering. The top thing to do on the list is to see Machu Picchu! But of course there are plenty of other things to do there and we are very excited for those, too.

When I return home, I will be immediately thrust into defending my Master's project, moving to a new location for a job, and walking the stage! This is a very exciting but very busy time for me.

I will post updates and pictures as we do and see things in Peru!

Sounds like fun!
I've never been anywhere in South America, and hardly know anything about Peru, living in Australia and all, but it looks like a really beautiful country. and the Huascaran National Park (from the Wikipedia page) looks particularly impressive too. Machu Pcchu definitely looks the most interesting though, and I'm sure you're going to have an awesome trip over there.
