There are not pay phones here. If necessary you need to ask to borrow somone´s cell phone to call or there are fono centers and places to call from cybers. (see spanish guide below)
The USD to Nican Cordoba exchange rate is 21.20 or thereabouts. US dollars are accepted. For money, I would also bring your ATM card. Travellers checks are rare. Better with cash and ATM cards. People who exchange money on the street are legit and it is okay to change money with them. Just ask ¨Cual es su rato?¨ and he will have a calculator to show you the exchange rate.
In Managua you have to take taxis, not busses. I am checking on basic taxi prices with a taxista that I trust.

Express Bus to Somoto (expreso a Somoto) from Managua costs 78 (setenta y ocho) cordobas and will last about 4 hours with a short stop in Esteli after 2 hours.
From Somoto I live in Moropoto adelante de San Lucas. A taxi from Somoto to Moropoto should not cost more than 100 (cien) cordobas or $5 cinco dolares. But you do not need to worry about this! There is no way I expect you to arrive in Moropoto alone! Just get to SOMOTO and HOTEL COLONIAL.
Bring $5 for Customs Tourist Payment upon arrival
You do not need shots.
I have bugspray, sunblock, malaria pills, and creams for any skin issues.
Bring Ibuprofen or whatever you use for headaches.
For those who are staying more than a week, bring some tennis shoes and old jeans for volcano boarding.

Shorts and tshirts are fine. Skirts and sundresses are fine. No shorts that are too short. Flip flops or sandals will be great. Who knows where we will end up so pack a swimsuit.

batteries. I have a AA charger for rechargable batteries.
plugin and voltage are the same as USA so all electronics should work.

Whatever you need or forgot to bring you can buy in Managua. Shampoo and soaps. Umbrellas. Swimming suits might be harder to find but I am sure that at the mall you could find one.

Oh, MY MOLLY,
You have done every single thing to make our journey to YOUR WEDDING as smooth and fun as possible! We've followed your blogging and your pictures and talked on the phone with you so many times (but, probably not enough!). We can hardly wait to get the 'feel' of you and Lenin in "YOUR" spot in the world and enjoying having you show us your day-to-day life over the past 2 years! You've sent so many TERRIFIC pictures that we nearly feel at home already! Ha!! However, we are feeling terribly SPOILED with all set up FOR us. YOU jumped into the Peace Corps ALL ALONE, having never seen the country, speaking no Spanish, knowing no one,...yet you went and you surpassed even your own expectations, I'm sure. Now you have Lenin and 'another' grand life! SO PROUD OF YOU!! SO HAPPY FOR YOU. Wherever you and Lenin's life goes, you'll be fine and we will be proud! Love you!
