Four days on Canary Islands, more specifically on one island, Tenerife, was enough for a short vacation. It's not that I didn't like Tenerife, but rather found it different from what I expected. This is a volcanic island, and seeing beaches with black sand was interesting, until you walk into the water and it looks like you're walking in muddy water. There are beaches with golden yellow sand, but this sand was brought here from Africa, which is less than 300km away. The volcano is in the middle of the island, and the towns and vegetation on the north are much more beautiful than the south, since it rains a lot. However, if you want to enjoy the sunny warm waters, then you need to go south, which we did. Unfortunately, the south is turned into something I named "Las Vegas", because of the many dull, plastic-looking hotels, stores, and shopping malls, which lack any originality or authenticity. The restaurants are even worse, since they all prepare the same dishes and all cook all types of food (e.g. Italian restaurants offer pizza and pasta but also burgers and paellas and steaks). Nevertheless, I am glad I saw it, but I would
probably go somewhere else for a summer vacation.

To the people that want to travel to Spain and especially Andalucía I give you a good tip. There is a great hostel where you can crash! In the White Nest Hostel in Granada, recently opened, you can find a young international group of like minded people, in fresh vibrant surroundings. You will have a great time to remember your entire life ..Based at the foot of the Alambra, the area is both central and historical.Full of tapas' bars really close and everywhere!!. I recommend you to stay in Hostels Granada and experience the life of Albayzin, Sacromonte and the heart of Granada itself.
