get a great deal on a tickets..and even better cuz i think i bought the wrong ticket as it was only 17 pounds for both of us from st.albans to pewsey....but it was ok cuz noone looked at my tickets anywhere because...
the local from st.albans..noone came by to check....and at london ...paddington station...big place....all trains delayed..because??? they found a body on the tracks around reading......so by the time (1 hour late...only 30 mins for us) they had 2 trains load of people shoved into 1 train....(with us) so noone checked..too crowded....good for us....bad for dead dude.
get here...adn the lock (which we shouldnt have used to secure our bikes together) ..well grizz used the wrong key..my key to my bike lock...it snapped off in the lock...luckily he didnt lock it to
anything connected to the train...so we got our bikes locked together off the train..and grizz (tandor...smash rawr!!) ripped it apart...seriosuly...he says it wasnt hard..but really who the hell does that???? awesome sauce..
so were good...go down the hill..theres a pub....brilliant!! had a pint...i had a coke..and talked to the locals....gave us directions to the campsite here.... http://www.the-barge-inn.com/localhistory.htm
and a free tray of tea...awesome!! talka bit..figure out the good stuff round ehre and how far and all that....set off on the bikes
6 miles to the campsite...no problem..were good..along the way..pass a great old church ina graveyard....and a stone amrking the place where king ethelred and his bro met up to fight the danes.....on like..1209 or something..pic to follow...sweeeet!!!
campsite...awesome..you can see a chalk horse on teh side of the hill....and it looks rather rustic to say the leqast...but its clean and nice..pub is awesom....nice people....cheap....showeres and toilets are small..but clean..not smelly..free showers and hot water..and free wifi..obviously.....so its a win.....also 20 pound for 2 nights.....no other fees....yay!!!!!
back in st.albans...we had 1 hour before the train left...and the time we bought the ticket....dammit...only 1 hour to see something..we chose the chuirch.......awesome church...where st.alban is buried....the first christian martyr in england....awesome....and got pilgrim badges!!! brilliant...

Old Sud, etc...
Make sure you go by Old Sud. I don't think there is an entrance fee and it is AWESOME!!! One of Henry II castles. You can see the entire works, although none of the buildings are still standing. It is situated on an old Roman fort with works that are even older than that. I think I know the hill with the horse you are talking about. We went by it on our way to bath from Salisbury.
