Our first fundraiser is now complete!! Thank you to all who came out to support us at our Moroccan Dinner Party! Although, some things didn't turn out the way we originally had planned, we had a great time! There were a lot of prizes given away, laughs shared and even some inspiration to others to look into their own volunteer experience!
After nearly a 3 hour drive to get to Imane Restaurant, we set up our raffle/and Silent auction items and nearly sweat off 20 pounds in the sauna! The heat of the restaurant was intense....I guess we were being prepared for our trip to Morocco!!
Sucheta approached me to let me know i was becoming a Moroccan Bride! I was put in a "table" type thing, and hoisted up by 4 men and paraded around the restaurant. It was hot on the ground so being up and close to the lights was even hotter! :o) It was fun, although I thought I was going to hit my head a few times and when the guys started to dance thought for sure I was going to fall! Had I known I would be participating in this, I definetly wouldn't have
worn a dress! If it wasn't for the table cloth I would have flashed the whole room!!
