paris!!

so hop the trains from gimmelwald...oddly so easy this time with our bikes..watch the countryside turn from mountains to...well...just like home...it looks just like back in fairmount..the meadows and cows here and there..kinda flat but some hills here and ther....i have a new appreciation for indiana now..sadly we had to go to europe to realize it...oh well.

get in last night..walked from our hsotle to the eifel tower..20 mins no problem..man this hostle is the best...really really budget...but the place is clean....and the beds are great..adn the location....can i harp on that enough??? awesome...and for this price??? wow

so its all lit up..the tower i mean..awesome....walk back and get a quick shower and die...we slept pretty well...get up..have a quick free breakfast here....its actually good..roll with butter and fruit spread...orange juice..coffee..and cereal..and milk...awesome....and off we go on the bikes....awesome day!! overcast adn cool...not too cold..and no sun in your face..perfect..go back adn check out the tower...its soooo big!!! humongous underneath it!!

ride on to teh seine river..go all the way down teh seine towards the louve..pass the obelesk on the way......louve looks awesome!! took some pics..and get to watch the gypsies witht their gold ring scam...one walked all over just trying it over and over..when we didnt fall for it yelling no to her..she stuck out her tongue and continued on.....scum. anyway fun to watch it...next time were totally gona mess with em and piss them off...lolz...should be fun.....

along the river is the stalls for people selling things.....like a little flea market in each little fold up stall....lots of post cards...pins pictures books comics old magazines adn pictures,, including prints and reproductions of some masters painting like van gogh.....all awesome and great..but copies..but great prices!!! mucha posters...and toulous latreck (sp?) so awesome.....we just look as most are closed.we wil come back tomorrow.

ride on to the notre dame..go inside cuz its free....awesome....and light a candle for teddys dad there under the big jesus on the cross....

outside and taking a break..watching all the people...the sparrows live in a big bush and sit on peoples hands and eat bread just outside the door of the church.....we ride on and decide to go back....come across the shakespear bookshop...wow awesome place..all in english..famous i guess...sure is nice. loads of good stuff...i find in the bargain bin a brother cadfael book..the 14th in the series...(a medieval monk who solves crimes...theyre awesome on pbs) had to get it...so cool. they also had a newest rick steves paris book...we find the rue cler walk and the montmare walk..(the one with van goghs house and the moulon rouge..yeah up ther on that hill) so we decide to do the moulon rouge walk tonight and the rue cler next.....awesome!! right by the eifel tower....after a ride where we almost die 3 times from the trafic....we get to the rue cler...and the shops are cool....but we have shops kinda like it by the hostle..but we find a discount food market and get some stuff...great prices....grizz got a strawberry champaigne too and after we get bread from teh bakery next door, and some raspberrries at the fruit market (along with cookies and whiped cream and some goat cheese) we head to the eifel tower and have a picnic......OMG...SO AWESOME......

oh and the ride down the river all the way..and the way back towards the tower and to the hostle again....ALL DOWN HILL!!! HWO COOL IS THAT??? this town gets a 5 stars from this fat girl...awesome.

tonight....the montmare walk that includes van goghs house, latrecks house, the moulon rouge..and other great stuff...

i didnt think this town would be that cool..i mean.yeah ive seena ll the pics and seen the shows....i didnt know it would really live up to the hype tho......and the prices are way better than in switzerland.....

paris is as cool as doctor who's bow tie.....bow ties are cool...and so is paris..we might have to stay a few more days before amsterdam. maybe

Cluny
You've got to see the Musée National du Moyen Age Thermes de Cluny de Paris, AKA The Cluny. The building itself is amazing (Roman). The Unicorn Tapestries are there. They are quite lovely. My favorites. And make sure you get croisants. You will never feel the same about crescent rolls again!

Make sure you guys go to Napoleons tomb! It's awsome! I really enjoyed it when I was in Paris
