So the past few days have not been too eventful. I have had two days of classes so far (1 hr 30 min of the language Twi, 1 hr 30 min of Ghana culture, and 1 hr 30 min of a class about the slave trade and current situations). Its a very long day of classes but its going to be worth the 6 credits for sure.

Food - There is a lot of chicken, fish, and rice here...not much of a variety on campus. The fruit here is amazing! The freshest, sweetest pineapple I have ever tasted and yummy mango.

Market - Went to the market today, everyone wants you to come into their shop because they have the best prices. It's almost frustrating because they pull on you and show you all of the things in their store and almost make you feel bad when you just say no and walk away.

Last night all of the group (which is all girls) got cute and went out to a bar last night. We went to a place call bella roma which was a very nice bar/club. There we big flat screens and good drinks and a dance floor. We all had a good time together. Today we did touring around the city and went to the memorial for the first president of Ghana.

We are going to do more exploring after class this week so I should have some good stories by then.

Bug bite count : 6

And I will keep trying to upload some pictures, the connection is just kind of slow, until then have a good night! 😊

I came across your blog by accident, but I'm looking forward to reading about your experiences in Ghana. I hear they have yummy banana gum! My blog is always looking for travel photos, social commentaries, reviews, etc, to share. If you have the time, check it out at dirty-hippies.blogspot.com, or email us at dirtyhippiesblog@gmail.com. Good luck adjusting to your new environment! Heather :)
