Travel day today to Koh Samui. Always a pain as you are between places and cant realty do anything as it is all packed.

We had a late book out at 1400 hours so were happy to stay in the air con and read.

Caught a taxi to the airport, I think it was a friend of the concierge as it was a Nissan skyline with go faster bits bolted on. Anyway we got there quickly and found that even though we were economy tickets we had access to Bangkok airline lounge with complimentary internet, coffee tea and nibbles.

The airplane that flew us there was an “ATR 72 is a twin-turboprop short-haul regional airliner built by the French-Italian aircraft manufacturer ATR.

The flight was over in just over an hour and even included a sandwich.

Got to Koh Samui airport and there was a bit of a wait for a taxi but we got there nd it was 45 minutes to the hotel/resort. We were met by a delightful thai lady called Meow and she showed us to our apartment.

It was huge, we have a utility room with washer/dryer, a kitchen with fridge/ freezer, a massive lounge with samsung 40 inch tv and DVD and a dining area that can sit 10 people, a balcony with a double sun lounge plus table and chairs overlooking the infinity pools and sea, a bedroom with a full size computer desk and 24 hour broadband internet access plus another smaller samsung slimline TV,the bathroom area has a his and her sink plus a big shower and a batth that can fit 4 people which is filled by a waterfall effect plus a cupboard for suitcases and 2 big sepperate wardrobes. We are on the top floor where the lift sign says exclusive rooms. All this for just under £100 per night and includes breakfast. Forget the problems at Bangkok there has never been a better time to come to Thailand, just not Bangkok.

We had a meal in the restaurant called Z which is featured in their best places to visit and settled in for 10 days of relaxing. I nearly killed myself when I bit into a red chilli thinking it was a red pepper but apart from that it looks lovely here.

Enjoy Koh Samui
Glad you managed to get to KS - Tricia loved it over there and would be extremely jealous of you both. Sounds like you are roughing it well and truly! Loved the description of the Skyline (sounds like Robbie's car - Nissan skyline with go faster bits bolted on) ! Speaking of number 1 son - he has just signed a contract on a fabulous house and 20 acres in the hills near us - stunning property and both Brian and I simply love it. He is also off to Manila tomorrow with some mates for a couple of weeks - plumbing obviously doesn't pay! Enjoy your last couple of weeks - you sure have had the most incredible trip of a lifetime - love all the photos and descriptions. Look after yourselves - love Brian and Fiona xx
