This past weekend we spent it with great friends in Yantian and enjoyed fun activities. Friday we arrived in Yantian around 5:30pm, we haven't been to Yantian since Christmas. Once we arrived to Kris and Kelly's apartment the other 3 couples were all waiting for us. We decided we were all hungry and went to a new restaurant and enjoyed the food and drinks for about 2 hours. Then we went back to Kris and Kelly's apartment and proceeded to get pretty drunk. Around 2am we all wanted some street food and ventured out to find some wonderful spicy noodles "la de miantou"

Saturday we woke up around 11:30am, Cali cooked eggs, Pete & Jimmy made toast. Then we hung out until us girls left for our surprise Spa Gift of a 2 hr massage in Luohu. They had given us exact directions of how to get to the Kai Li Hotel which was very easy to find. Once we entered we were told to go to the 2nd floor, we tried to let the front desk know that we had a 2pm appointment for a Chinese massage but we couldn't get the message across.

We were told to enter into the ladies locker room area and shown lockers to put our things. We were unsure how much clothing we needed to remove as some places in China you get a massage with all your clothes on. A lady was in her towel and spoke great English, come to find out she is Chinese American and lives in San Fran. We took showers, sat in the steam room and then got a 20 minute full body scrub. We were all surprised because it was to be a 30 minute back scrub, but turned out to be a FULL body scrub, our skin was feeling lovely after that. Next, we were told to change into a set of pajamas and told to go upstairs(all by body language of course).

We got to the top of the stairs and were greeted by another attendant knowing that we were ready for our 100 minute massage. We were asked to pick out the ladies that we wanted to massage us, we didn't care and then were asked if we wanted a room for the 4 of us. Sure it would be fun to all be together. The next 100 minutes was AWESOME. I have had plenty of 1 hr massages in my life in San Diego but never anything longer. 100 minutes was pure bliss.

This was also the 1st time in China that I have ever tipped as we were asked to tip on top of a 10% service charge. Well worth it and we all want to go back one more time before leaving Shenzhen in about 6-7 weeks.

It was now 5:30 and we got back on the bus. Kelly called the guys to let them know we were on our home and they also wanted us to call again when we got off the bus. MMM what did they have up their sleeve?

When we arrived at the apartment the curtains were pulled shut and when we entered the table was set along with 2 bottles of wine. No guys, where were they. Surprise they shouted and out they came with noodles, meat sauce, tomato sauce, garlic bread and garlic steamed broccoli. Great Dinner Men!!!

Staci's dad was able to celebrate that evening with us as he had just flown back from Xian and arrived in Yantian while us ladies were getting massages. It is fun to have visitors to show them how we survive in China. This is her dad's 2nd time to China and this time he traveled for 5 days on his own around China. He is leaving on Tuesday after a 3 week stay. Glad to meet you this trip Mr T.

After dinner we went to the bowling alley for 2 rounds of bowling then onto the Ear Bar. A KTV(Kareoke bar) and sang the night away. I didn't have my camera along with me so no pictures from that. After the Ear Bar we had more street food and made good friends. I didn't want to drink anymore and this Chinese man bought everyone beer. I would be considered rude if I didn't drink it so Pete told the man I was pregnant.

NO I AM NOT but they have no idea. Yes, in China we have said we are married and now pregnant in order to NOT be rude. In the USA lying is more rude.

Another late night and more sleeping in on Sunday morning as we awoke around 11:30 again. Today, Kris had planned a cooking lesson at their favorite Sichuan restaurant.

Yi is an NBA player who is from Shenzhen, Kelly became a fan when they were on the worst losing track in NBA history
Kitchens are very small in China so we were unsure as to how 9 of us were going to do this. Staci, Cali and Kelly helped prepare the green beans and some potatoes, then they went into the kitchen to watch them cook. I stayed out as I didnt want to see where my food came from, as the hygiene factors in restaurants are MUCH different in China than the USA. Probably why we get food poisoning much more often than the USA.

This was the last surprise of the weekend, Pete has booked a room for all the girls at the Yesinn in Hong Kong on May 14th. I can see some shopping in my future.
