Hello everyone!! We are sad to report that our wonderful visit with the Smith/Mayberry's has come to an end and they are safely back in our homeland (well, we are happy about that part!). Our recap of their trip will appear shortly, along with their thoughts and impressions of their wild whirlwind trip! And of course, lots of beautiful pictures!

In the meantime, I wanted to tell the story of what happened yesterday at school. I (Danielle) teach an after-school class 2 days a week for high level English students. In this class I have a great group of girls that love speaking English and are a pleasure to teach. They love to ask me questions about everything, and Mike is often a topic of our discussions. They wanted to meet him so badly because one of the girls had seen him before and told the others how handsome he is (ha!). So anyways, I convinced him to come to my class yesterday to meet the students.

When I started class and announced he would come today, the class cheered. When Mike walked into class a little while later, they cheered even more. The girls were giddy and so stunned by his good looks that they couldn't even ask him any questions at first. By the end of class, one student proclaimed that she wants to marry a Canadian. Because of Mike. Oh, the power of good looks here in Korea! He was complimented on his high nose, his height, told that he looks like Beckham (I'm sure because of the hair!). One student said we look alike - not sure how to take that, but everyone else said we are "best couple!" haha!

The truly surprising reaction to his presence though, came from fellow teachers in the teacher's room! As I was turning off my computer after class and cleaning my desk up (yes, Mom, I can hear your surprise to this comment, but it's true), I could hear gasps and "ohh, ohhh" from the other teachers! Even the vice principal greeted Mike with more interest than he has EVER taken in me! All the middle aged teachers (particularly the women) couldn't keep their shock to themselves (exclaiming out loud when they saw him) and I swear it was the first time in 7 months that any of those teachers took any interest in me - and it was only because Mike was walking beside me!

I think Mike's head grew a few centimeters yesterday from all the attention he got from my boy crazy, western-obsessed students! I think all around everyone had a great afternoon, and even today at school, my students see me and go "Teacher, yesterday boyfriend?" " Yes, that was my boyfriend at school yesterday" "Oh, teacher, boyfriend so handsome!"
Gotta love it!
