beautiful bridge I love this city! Every time I go there I always think I wish I could live in Budapest just for a few months at least. I've been to Budapest at least seven times, and I could go there again and again. We went there in mid-March, just for a weekend, and when we came back we thought it would be nice to go there again with some of our friends, so we went there again last weekend. In March, while it was still a bit cold, after a day of sightseeing and walking through Szentendre, a charming village near Budapest, we decided to try for the first time one of the famous thermal baths or spas. We went to Gellert, one of the oldest (hot springs were discovered in 15th century!) and quite beautiful spas with separate rooms and pools for men and women, and tried everything from steam rooms, dry saunas to warm thermal pools (36 degrees C), and a bit warmer pools (38 degrees C), and spent very relaxing two hours. The experience would have been even nicer if the staff showed us how to navigate through the maze of halls and rooms, since I got lost, and
wasn't the only one. However, I still highly recommend trying this, or some other thermal bath. And in the evening, try one of the Hungarian restaurants, like Paprika, with excellent paprikash, or some of the lovely patisseries, like Ruszwurm near the Buda castle, with delicious Austro-Hungarian type of cakes!
