#1: Our van fully packed
We've just arrived at the school, and start unloading I have arrived at the opinion that to see social progress in its earliest stages, watch cartoons. Particularly late night adult cartoons, on . They seem to push the limits of what is acceptable to discuss or present, even if it's satire. In fact, even as young and hip as I am...stop laughing...I've been shocked and pleased by what I've seen as of late. Anyway, just a suggestion for you night owls/insomniacs.
Dinner tonight was a can of succulent tuna mixed with crisp, canned corn and peas mixed into a golden, creamy bowl of E-Z Maz 'n' Cheese. Lord help me, it was goooooood too.
Below, the numbered pictures are just a few of the steps we go through every morning to put up the set, which is easy to forget is just as much a part of our job as anything else.
Ay Dios Mio, I am seriously beside myself at how much roadkill we see. They've replaced mile markers on the highways!! And we encounter everything: opossums, racoons, deer, hawks, falcons, armadillows, Hitchhikers (well, these guys are alive but still WEIRD!) and probably more but the guts really get in the way. One of the
#2: finally inside
Nice...now we can start building living wonders we recently saw was a train of Turkeys and another of pheasants! I had no idea they traveled this way.
In other news, I am particulalry excited about the activity at home this past week, as my Mom and little sister, Marissa, have spent a good amount of time in rehearsals for a stage production of "Wizard of Oz" at the Lyceum Theatre downtown (where I've happened to work for the last 2 years). It was Marissa's theatrical debut, and mom took part as a make-up artist, both I'm sure were brilliant and I'm SO SORRY I MISSED IT! Congratulations! <3
I am on a chronic blueberry kick this trip and I can't help it. Blueberry beer, blueberry wine, blueberry green tea (hot and iced), and dried blueberries, not to mention the blueberry oatmeal cookies Anastasia and I were in the habit of baking in San Diego. Lemme tellya, aside from the amazing taste, these little guys are powerful disease fighters. The USDA Human Nutrition Center reports that Blueberries rank #1 compared to 40 other fresh fruits when it comes to antioxidant content. Take that cancer!
We spent this past weekend in Indianapolis and it's
#3: PVC Piping
Here Sarah connects one of four sections of pipe ribbing which make up the support of our set hilarious how true it is about the weather: "If you don't like it...wait". On several occassions we drove through rain, snow, sleet, and sunshine all within 5 minutes! I have taken it upon myself to diagnose it MMPD: Meteorological Multiple Personality Disorder.
Okay, to close this entry it's creepy story time. Since this journey commenced, we have been haunted by the random appearance of old, dirty crayons. Now, neither of us BROUGHT crayons, nor were they present upon the packing of the van. These little guys fall out of dirty laundry bags, duffle bags, food bags. They show up on our beds, around the car, and it is CREEPY!! Mayhaps some mischievious child ghost is tagging along. Me know'st not...but damn.
