The adventures of Europe have begun....they literally start the minute you get off the plane!!! Heathrow has got to be the busiest airport; people pushing, climactic reunions and the odd lost backpakers (Morgan and Kailey). Although we had been there before the experience is different every time, this time being a little more positive than the last! We survived our 24 hour flight with minimal emotional and physical damage.

Riding the tube is a multicultural experience, which makes London so unique! Like every Londoner we hopped on the tube headed for Queen's Park. Even though we were twice as wide people still managed to push us around. We quickly learned that it's not bad manners it's just Underground survival. It's bizarre to me that so many people can be in one small place at one time without holding one single conversation. Running every which way, Londoners are speeding to catch their next tube. They know how to pack themselves as sardines so each and everyone has the chance to make it to work on time. You can't take offence to a purse in the face or an elbow in the back or a sneeze in your face, it's just the

way of the Underground. It's a talent if you can keep from staring at the person across from you, perhaps the trick is to stare at your reflection instead.

Our humble abode for a couple days was situated perfectly. Up the road was a decadent cafe that served the most exquisite pastries we've ever had the pleasure of tasting! It was the only right way to start our day. Camden Town and Oxford Street were a few stations away and provided us with the retail therapy we needed. After powdering our noses and mentally preparing we hit the pavement. Camden Town was littered with shops and markets to get lost in. And of course we had to do the sane thing (since the motherly voice in our heads kept prompting us) and buy ourselves warmer jackets and scarves. The weather is a bit different than Australia!! To complement our new purchases Oxford Street so graciously accomodated us with adorable new shoes!! Since our money was disappearing too quickly we decided to abandon ship and high tail it (meaning the exact opposite by bus) to Scotland.

Thought it was an early morning we managed to make it to the

Victoria Coach Station to board and start our 9 hour journey north! Stopping for a quick 30 minute lunch break we were warned to be back on the bus so we wouldn't have to walk the rest of the way. We didn't think that would be a problem however, time went faster than we thought. Sauntering back we were alarmed, a bus, our bus, was pulling out....without us! Running after the giant white people mover we managed to flag it down and literally jump on! Phew....that was a close one.

We are currently falling in love with the city of Edinburgh, Scotland. It's a beautiful old city in the south-east covered with Medieval and Georgian architecture, just dripping with history. We really don't mind so much getting lost. Historical monuments await around every corner; castles, cathedrals, statues etc. It's completely hopeless not to fall into the tourist mode and snap picture after picture. We'll be staying here for the next few days milling about and spending some quality time with the city of Edinburgh!! We'll catch you up later...CHEERS!!
