Sunrise on the Teuk Chhou river
Hi everyone, we have spent two nights at Kampot in gorgeous accomodation down by the river, for only $5.00 a night. It was an idyllic setting about 8km out of town so when we arrived we hired a honda xr 250 dirt bike to get to and from and up into the mountains.Kampot architecture is French colonial style but quite damaged which is a real shame, most damaged caused by the Khmer Rouge.
We went into Bokor National Park which was quite a long road up at the top is a derelict hill station there is a derelict casino, church, the kings residence etc it must of been hard work building up there? the views were spectacular from the top of the mountain, but unfortuntately cambodian people we feel have no understanding of important places as rubbish is thrown everywhere, and they are also in the process of buliding a hotel up there.
Phnom Penh is where we are now but we leave tomorrow we didnt really want to come here as it is the capital of Cambodia so its busy but not like Vietnam, we visited the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda both very beautiful places, but the heat just

Eutophia where we stayed
melts you here.Today we went to the S21 Toul Sleng Genocide Museum which was very difficult to comprehend we were both to upset to continue this visit. This is where Pol Pot tortured and murdered thousands of people and we think the thing that makes it really difficult was the fact that this was happening in the late 1970's.
For a really big city Phnom Penh has a really nice feel. If you really want to you can go to the shooting range and fire anything from an AK47 to a rocket propelled grenade launcher, even a bazooka.
So tomorrow we are off to Siem Reap, from here we will visit the temples of Angkor.
