This one is for you, dad haha Last night was my first class of Basque Folk-dance-what a hoot! Our teacher is totally a Basque version of Ray Romono. He taught us 2 different simple dances which we practiced until we could travel around in a large circle doing them. Pretty much all of the USAC kids are in that class, so it was fun seeing everyone dance/struggle. After a semester of this, I'm BOUND to return a folk-dancing fool! haha
Sunday my friends Mary and Carrie and I hiked up to the top of the "Jesus Mountain" which has a HUGE statue of Jesus who watches over the city. It was raining and windy, but the views of the city were sooooo worth it. Hopefully this blog stops being difficult and will let me post the photos. After we hiked back down, we made our way to a Churreria for churros and chocolate- mmmmmmm! The churros were fresh out of the oil with sugar on top, and the chocolate was so thick and rich. Perfect ending to a cold, wet day.
Some girls and I are planning to go to Beirritz, a small French village right over the border, on Saturday for a day. Speaking of France... I
booked a flight to Paris today! Going the end of April into May, very exciting. Dad, it almost kills me because I will be in Paris on your birthday... the irony of this situation is almost unbearable.
School is starting to pick up. I have my midterm on Thursday (after about a week and a half of instruction) for my composition class and then the final is mid-February and then I move up to a higher class. They really mean it when they say intensive language track haha. Off to go do hwk.
Besos,
Lauren

Nice photos, Charlie. Couldn't be happier for you. You'll have to give them a little dance at the JT.
