So friday was spent with another early start, another long bus journey, although it was a stunning journey! Thats the thing with these busses, the journey is all through the mountains which at times can be pretty crazy as the roads are tiny, some are in really bad condition and they have hundreds of corners and curves, but the scenery is amazing!! Just driving through these mountains in the middle of the jungle going through local villages, so we dont mind the journeys too much, just as long as our driver goes slow round the corners!!

So we got here safe and sound, got a tuktuk with a group of people from the station which nicely dropped us in the towns expensive area!! All the guesthouses were giving their prices in dollars...not a good sign. We managed to ask where there were some cheaper guesthouses and after walking for over an hour and looking at loads we eventually settled for one for100,000kip...twice the price we were paying yesterday but still only about 7 pounds and it is gorgeous. Its like a little country house with all wooden rooms, cant describe it really but its very nice and clean so we didn't mind. Once again we were starving hungry so headed straight out to find something to eat. Walking around we saw loads of nice bars and restaurants with lovely gardens by the river and romantic lights outside but all were a little bit pricey for us 😞 we didn't come across any local places which was a bit of shame and ended up on this main tourist street with lots of pricey restaurants, managed to find one that was a bit better and got the cheapest thing on the menu...cheeseburger and chips haha! Yumyum, it must have been a popular place as when we were ordering Chris and Ivanna walked in (The british-polish couple from our trek in Chiang Mai) so we ate and spent the evening catching up. Once again by 10pm everything quietened down, Ste and I walked back home via the night market which was closing up...so another early night.

We hadn't really planned much to do or see around Luang Prabang, its just one of them towns everyone goes on about and you have to visit. There seemed to be a few trips you could do to waterfalls or caves but neither Ste nor I would that bothered, so on Saturday once again we hired some bikes and biked around the city. Its all quite flat so was a pleasant bike ride. The town has got quite a few temples that we visited and biked along the river front stopping for a nice drink. Its a really nice city, with lots of nice bars and restaurants along the river fronts but its all very touristy, makes a nice stop for a few days though. We had a little wander through the night market and bought a couple of souvenirs 😊 Later that evening we treated ourselves to a nice curry at an Indian restaurant 😊 Very tasty!! Ste went off to one of the nice bars to watch the liverpool game whilst I went to the internet cafe to do my GTP applications as I just realised the closing date is pretty soon!

On Sunday we had planned to get up at 6am to get a bus to our next stop but after waking up to our alarm we both decided it was too early to get up and couldn't really fave another 9 hour bus journey just yet, so we decided to spend another day here. We headed out for some brekkie at this cool little place where all these Laos women set up stalls on the street and sell huge baguettes for about 70p! They all sellfresh fruits shakes too for about 35p. Tasty cheap breakfast. We spent the rest of the afternoon on internet doing some job stuff (I know exciting!!) but got to be done. Think we will probably chill out somewhere later, grab some cheap food off the market and prepare ourselves for another early 9 hour bus tomorrow morning.

Lots of Love
