AndesAndesAndes

View of the Andes on Santiago to BA flight. They go on forever...
So, after a bumpy flight into Santiago, a brief stop over there and a short flight to B.A, we´ve landed safely.

Initial impressions after 2 days; BA is MASSIVE but approachable. People are generally pretty friendly and forgiving of our lack of Espanol. It feels very European.

We have visited Casa Rosada (The Pink Palce) where Evita Peron did her thing and a few other local churches and bits and pieces (see pictures).

Yesterday we decided to take a Spanish course here in BA, so will be here for another two weeks. Hopefully this should enable us to communicate a little for the remianing 5 months...

Ciao

Can´t remember the name of the Chruch at the moment, but San Martin..., the liberator of Argentina is entombed here.

Good luck with the Spanish lessons - I imagine it will be a little easier once you know a few useful phrases :) The photo of the bank is impressive. Any idea if the whole building is still used by the bank, or whether other businesses use it as well?

Hello Pat and Carina (and Gerry)! I guess Brett and Jo are so busy at Spanish lessons, there's no time for blogging. We can chat amongst ourselves. The weather forecast for Buenos Aires today was for 26deg and 94% humidity. Hot stuff.
