Day 2/3

Since the first day was really two days long, I will consider this our catch-up day. This day we wake up and are ready to go. I have read on the internet about the "Dedos" or "El Mano". AKA "Fingers" or "The Hand". After a quick breakfast at the hotel, we cab it over to the beach to check out this supposedly famous sculpture. Of coure we have forgotten the sunscreen, but we have also forgotten our towels. We strolled along the beach at Playa Brava, named for the riptides and gnarly waves. Eventually we found a seaside restaurant with a patio overlooking the beach but shaded with umbrellas. We are enjoying the beach but cannot sit in the sun so we drink some beers and have some pizza under the umbrellas. We end up buying this beautiful blanket/tablecloth from a beach vendor strolling the beach full of locals and touists. The vendors here are not like the vendors in Mexico. They are usually willing to give a discount of a couple of bucks but are not in your face. They have a carefree attiutude. If you buy, you buy.

Following the beach, we headed

to a nearby store for some much needed sunscreen. We used the sunscreen to prolong our enjoyment of the sun by the hotel pool. A quick shower after the pool and we left for dinner. We arrived downtown at a restuarant that we thought would have mexican food. It was actually Peruvian food. It turned out to be the first day the restaurant had been open, but we did not find this out until we had already ordered. The food was pretty good but nothing to rave about.

After dinner we walked along the bay and headed to the Conrad casino. In twenty minutes, Warren was able to walk away from the roulette table with $350. This concluded the evening and we went back to the hotel.
