Slept till 10:30 this morning then went for some brunch, a huuuge slice of banana and walnut cake, yummy. Walked to Sydney Harbour via the observatory (had a look round the museum and booked a night tour for tomorrow evening) to see the bridge and the Opera House. Debated where we should try and stand on New Years Eve. Then had a wander round Botanical Gardens where there were lots of bats in the trees, apparently there are 22,000 living there but they're trying to get them re-homed as they are destroying the trees! Spent about 4hrs looking round today. Ventured up the Sky Tower this evening which had great views over the city though hard to capture with all the reflections in the windows. Wandered back to the hotel and had a chat with our new German roomies.

sydney is a great city. I remember tho bats too. They're fruit bats and are HUGE! I'm looking at the photo of you and the bridge and remembering how I felt when I first saw it. Enjoy it! Xxx

Hey, looks like you're having fun! Thought I'd mention that if you wanna take pics through glass then a lens hood is handy. You can get rubber ones pretty cheap (maybe £5) and if it adjusts ok so it's not vignetting your lens you can press the hood right up to the glass to cut out reflections. Same principle works with wire mesh fences, just press the lens close to the fence and it should be so out of your focus range that it wont show in the photo. If I'm preaching to the converted then ignore my waffling :-)
