I read in Daegu Pockets (a magazine for expats in Daegu) that the weekend of October 24th was the optimum time to go to Palgongsan mountain to see the autumn leaves. So Heather and I hopped on the Rapid Bus #1 and headed out to the mountain. We couldn't believe our luck, it was the perfect fall weather to head out to the mountains; cool, but not cold and sunny. On the downside, apparently half the city of Daegu was thinking the same thing. The traffic both out to the mountain and back was truly insaney but it was a great trip nonetheless. We decided to go to Donghwasa Temple instead of hiking (although since the Temple is on the mountain, it was a little like hiking anyway). I had been to the temple one other time on a rainy day in early May so it was really wonderful to see it again on a clear autumn day.
