1: Allen Sand Dune Boarding - 90 Mile Beach 10 secs
So we headed to Northland in search of warm weather. We found warm welcomes but not much for weather. Stopping in Whangarei to visit family friends Chip and Barbara (who moved from Wilmington a number of years ago) and explore the area on our way north. In light wind we sailed around infront of their beautiful farm estate, hiked Mt Manaia in heavy winds and caught some fun surf on a sunny day. The sun here is stronger than about anywhere else, because of the weak ozone above, so a clear sky goes a long way in warming you up.

We left the comfort of a home away from home to head for Pahia in search of boats, jobs and boating jobs. Pahia is a the little Wrightsville Beach of NZ - which was still rather uninhabited execpt for the occasional sunny saturday until summer(december). 3 Bars, a small grocery and plenty of tourist accomodation we hiked and explored the surrounding Bay of Islands and even further north for a day trip to Cape Reinga/90-Mile Beach. After about 2 weeks, we didn't have much luck finding the ideal jobs, we headed back to Auckland in hopes of warming up with a plane ticket to Fiji.

(See Fiji Blog)

Bummed about the lost luggage, we explored around Auckland with some German girls we met on the flight back from Fiji. Rangitoto island first, which was an interestingly barren place. Hamilton was next, where we attended an awsome rugby game with fellow Ameri, Will and ran into some old friends from Pahia(sorry no pics). Allen shortly there after decided to head up. Next up for me, Wellington!
