Hi folks, well its been a while but I have been incommunicado on a little desert island with no tinternet (well there was one place but it was slower that the old dial up days). Also I have drowned my phone in the sea so no photos until i can get a new phone 😞

First things first, we went to Taman Negarra, a 130 million year old rain forrest. Not really on my list but ya gotta try stuff out. Anway, it was hot hot hot, wet, crawling with stuff everywhere, and pretty interesting (for a day or two!). Pontus and I shared a lift with two scots called Dougie and Katie so we ended up sharing a four bed wooden hut type thing with them. First night massive rain most of the night, very impressive, and we were staying right by the river so it was dramatic. In the day we did the canopy rope bridge walk, basically a rickety rope bridge suspended 30 metres up in the canopy...my fear of heights was okay too, so it was a wicked experience. Later on we trecked through sweaty rainforest to a cave called gua tellinga, saw a whole swarm of bats, really freaky, the smell and noise was very weird as we crawled right past them. On the trek back we managed to spot a monitor lizard, lots of termites, and some majorly massive red ants, and I am talking almost the size of your little finger! Anyway enough jungle for me ( not a massive fan of dirt and bugs!), so as the guys decided to an 8 hours overnight trek the next day I hot footed it by bus, train, and ferry to Pulua Tioman (Tioman Island), once voted the most beatiful island in the world I think.

Tioman:

Well its everything you imagine a tropical island should be........crystal clear blue water, swealteringly hot, palm trees, beachside huts, locals that move at about .1 mile and hour all the time. Stayed at Salang for 4 nights and basically this was my day:

get up, have a swim
breakfast of pancakes and roti
smoke a fag, read a bit
take a walk, have a swim
snooze
eat some noodly type stuff
drink beer and play darts
attempt to chat up hot bikini girls
more beer
chilling in the moonlight by the sea with music and more beer

sometimes life is just a bitch aint it! well there was some activity. i trekked over to a place called monkey bay......it was awesome, a completely desserted white sand beach with only some old dissused shacks from when people used to stay there. I had to explore the run down accommodation, and I found a guitar! how cool, not fun trekking back with it, and it turned out to be fucked anyway!! haha. There was also a tyre swing at monkey beach (how apt) that you could swing out over the sea on. sweet.

Anway next day pontus turned up and we trekked over to the other side of the island to the amazing Juara Bay. A really picturesque chilled little place with 5 tourists including us! Tioman is basically out of season so there is literally no one there. After more chilling at Juara Bay (we sayed at Paradise View, which says it all really), especially at the really cool wooden shack bar on the beach, it was time to get up and move on. So now I am in Mersing for the night and then its off to Melaka tomorrow. Formerly the oldest British settlement on the mainland. So I am taking it back for Blighty!!

Wish I could show you my new photos folks, hopefully as soon as I can find a new phone that takes my memory cards and will work with an English Sim card. The Malaysians seem thoroughly confused by the idea of me wanting to do this. However if i get a sim card here I have to register with my passport! and no one seems to know if it will work in Thailand. I tell you the English should never have left this place. We would have worked out an efficient way to take a tourists money 😊
