I was just thinking about my recents blogs and I havent given you all a typical week for me over here in Belfast. Obviously I am studying here and getting my master's in Sports Management as well as teaching first year students. I start off my monday's teaching first year students (freshman) basketball. It is an awesome class because none of the kids have ever played basketball before so I am getting a chance to teach them a new sport. As people know I love doing that, so I am really enjoying that, and I get paid to do it as well. I also have one class on Monday which is Sports Marketing. My teacher is from Australia and is a very good teacher. This is probably my favorite and most beneficial class for me. Monday nights the four other scholars and I have to coach the Junior Elks in basketball. Kevin Foley (fellow american!!) and I coach the older kids (14-19) so they are good sessions and the kids work hard. Tuesday's I have two classes. The first class is Organisational Behaviour, where we learning about organisational structures and the other class is Human Resource Management. Tuesday evenings we have training from 8-10. Wednesdays we have no classes, it is pretty much a work day for me. Since we haven't had the internet at the house, I come to the library and spend most of my day in there. Wednesday evening's we have weight lifting as a team. Thursday's is my longest day. I have three classes. The first class is Managing the Digitial Enterprise. The second class is Sports Policy (this is my second favorite class) and the last class of the week is Finance and Accounting. This class is brutal. I have never taken a Finance and Accounting class so it is going to be a tough one. Luckily for the Sports Managment students we only have two exams. We have one in Marketing and one in Finance (yikes). The rest of the work is group projects and individual assignments. Thursday evening's we have training again 8-10. Friday's we dont have classes either (It is great always have a three day weekend!!). It is another day of doing work for school. Friday evening's we have training again. Usually a softer practice because we have our games on the weekend. The week for me isnt bad and they are flying by. I cannot believe we are almost done with week 4. Only have 7 more weeks to go!!
This weekend we have our second game against a team from Dublin, they are called DCU Saints. It is another home game and we are coming in hoping to get our first win of the season!
This is the weekly life of Dave Neal so now people know exactly what I am doing. I am now off to a conditioning session with three lads on my team, (Kevin Foley, Conor Lilly and I) should be a good one. Hope everyone is having a brillant week!
Cheers
