As Suzie needed some rest and re cooperation, we decided to go straight down south to some beach resorts in order for us to have a chill with our feet up. We were made comfortable by “Frank” on the train, who was one of the cheeriest and campest characters that we have met in Thailand to date, and that is saying a lot! The train journey was over almost as quickly as it had begun, and as we caught a bus to the pier, we caught a sun rise over Chumphon and it was beautiful, I think it gave us all the tingles!

When we arrived at Ko Tao, we headed straight for Freedom Beach, which was a pretty laid back sort of a place. It had its own private beach and was so beautiful we couldn't believe that we were there.

After a night or so at Freedom beach, we headed towards Sari Beach, and this was just as beautiful, but with a little more going on in terms of restaurants for Suzie not to have to walk too far to get to. In the evening, we were entertained by one of the most impressive (if not a little crazy ting tong) fire dancers that we have ever witnessed.

thank you for your blog entry
After reading your entry about Koh Tao and the Freedom Beach I went as well. Freedom Beach Resort is the best. Nice bungalows close to the beach with an amazing view. Thank you for the tip. We had the best time of our live at Freedom Beach. They have a web site www.freedombeachresort.com which I can only recommend. Thanks again
