Family going away party

After a couple of hours of decorating in the sunshine and then a stupid rain shower I was ready for family to come over for a backyard bbq to say goodbye to me. It was a really great time and some relatives all the way from Saskatchewan were able to make it for my party! The theme was obviously Hawaii, NZ and OZ inspired. I had an inflatable palm tree up as well as an 8 foot tall hanging palm tree up. It was big potluck deal so everyone brought food inspired from those 3 countries. The food was AMAZING!!!

We had some watermelon and feta, bacon wrapped pineapple, Aaron's "shrimp on a barbie" skewers, an amazing salad with pineapple and macadamia nuts, an aussie rice salad, a hawaiin pizza, lamb meat pie, cheesy potatoes, ham, damper bread....there was a ton of food!

My mom got a cake made up for me from Cakeworks which I LOVED!! It's of me hitching a ride on a kangaroo and we're passing by some Kiwi birds hehehe. They even got my red glasses right! Lisa made some Pavlova as well and we also had some cheesecake so no shortage of dessert either!!

It was a great night and I had a lot of fun and was so glad to be able to visit with everyone before leaving on my adventure! Thanks to all that could make it out! Enjoy all the pics!!!

Hi Laurene, I had company this afternoon and did not get a chance to call you before supper.
