Too Good To Be True

Wow, what an awesome Gift from God we are living.

We arrived on US soil June 30th. I and the two boys (Kwabena and Praise) fell asleep on the way home from the airport. When we arrived in Lisbon, ND we walked in the door Praise flopped on the couch, I flopped next to him and Kwabena and Kirk both sprawled out on the floor. Finally, after 24hours of travel, we had the chance to get a good two hours of motionless sleep.

I woke up at 8:30pm and even to my surprise, the sun shone brightly. I woke Kwabena telling him we have to force ourselves to wake up as we want to sleep well during the night. When he sat up I said, “Kwabena, it is 8:30 PM”. I repeated myself a few times as I knew it wasn’t sinking in. You see, in Ghana we are close to the equator so the sun sets from 6:00-6:30pm all year.

These looooong days of summer have really spoiled us. Praise’s 8:00pm bed time went out the window real fast. Kwabena has been on the biggest adventure of his life.

It took a basket full of miracles

What's a trip to cowboy country without a good ole Bull-O-Rama
to get Kwabena processed thru to the US. I could cry (happy tears) sometimes as I watch him experience new things. He’s on the biggest adventure of his life. We are surrounded by kind and generous people and my heart swells with joy and pride as I watch both boys expand their horizons.

I will let the pictures talk for themselves.

As for our travel schedule, we hope to leave North Dakota and head to Michigan the first week of September. We’re not quite sure how accommodation is going to work for us. We are in need of a stable place to stay for two months where the kids can do school work in the morning and be free to play later in the day. If you have any ideas or suggestions for us please let me know via the blog or email.

I thought the boys might resist the idea of leaving ND as they have enjoyed it so much. I was relieved a few days ago when Kwabena responded, “No, I want to see more!” We are eager to introduce our most wonderful boys to you.

Gotta end here. We’re off to Yellowstone National

Park in the morning. Praise is afraid we might be “wolf bait”. We pray the weather hold out as we’ll be in a tent for a week!!!

This IS the Great Adventure!!

Oh my! What a wonderful time for the boys - and for you. I am so happy for you all. May you find that "stable" (ha!) in Michigan. Blessings abundant on your time stateside. Much love, Catherine
