We got up at 3am, and loaded the car with the assistance of a cup of tea (thanks Anne!). Then off to the airport for 4am to check in before the 6am flight. Cath got randomly chosen to be screened for explosives. (Cath - Can't think why they thought I was potentially explosive!! LOL. 😊 ).The plane was luckily fairly empty and we could move around and even use 4 middle seats as a bed. The flight didn't seem to take too long to me, after all it was only 11 hours!

We landed at Dubai and got everything off the aircraft. It was very hot as we came down the steps (42C!). We used the free wifi in the airport but it was only a couple of hours.

The next flight did seem long although it was only 7 hours. This time the plane was completely full, so we had to stay where we started. We had a few issues with the inflight entertainment, but they got them sorted out eventually (the computers in the back of the seats run Linux!).

At last Birmingham, and our taxi was waiting for us, even if our baggage wasn't. It came off eventually but it seemed to take for ever. Back home, to some balloons and a flag on the door! What great neighbours! Then straight to bed.

Got up this morning to find there is some maintenance needed on the garden ........

Looked at computer for 1st time in days .... so have only just realised you are home. It sounds as though you all had a fantastic time and I am glad you are all back safely. I expect you are glad of a good rest in YOUR OWN BEDS !!!!!!!!! Lizzy and gang are here but at when we are on our own I will have a good long chat ...... when you have caught up with yourselves.
