hey,

Yesterday I got to see one of the most magnificent sites in the entire world......Macchu Piccu!

I took the train from Poroy which is just outside Cusco and it was a three and a half hour ride all the way to Aguas Calientes...the nearest town to macchu piccu.

As you can understand, the excitment and anticipation of seeing macchu piccu made every moment getting there..... unbearable!

That is why the half hour bus trip up the steep mountain from the station to the actual site felt like a lifetime.

But few other experiences are as magical as the first glimpse of the ruins and that made alll the hours of traveling so worth the while.

I think all great journeys contain those few fairytale moments when you realise the romantic dream that youve been clinging on to for ages.

Reaching Macchu Piccu was one of those very moments.

Wandering through the ruins you have breathtaking views of the rivers running below, clouds around you and jungle encircling it all.

Although you get hundreds of tourists walking along the footpaths of the ruins.....the site is so overwhelming that you still feel as though it all belongs to you for those few hours.

The amazing flora that encirlces the site, the multicoloured flowers and trees also remind you that the amazon is only a few miles away.

I dont think words can adequaltely justify the feeling of being present at Macchu Piccu, perhaps it shouldn´t....I think the only way to trully experince great places of the world like these are to visit them.

The magic of its location, the beauty of its design and its undeniable spirituality left this traveller awestruck.

I can only say....come see it for yourself!

Anyways....after wondering through the ruins for many hours and just trying to take in the experince of being present there I had to catch my return train to Ollyantambo station and then a bus back to Cusco.

What a fantastic day!

Today .....its a few more hours in Cusco before I leave for Lima.

It feels like just yesterday that i got to Buenos....and the holiday is already drawing to an end.

Till later..... ciao.
