Roberta, Karen and myself visited Walden Pond in Concord and walked around Walden Pond. The weather was warm humid and overcast but we certainly enjoyed the walk. There's a well defined trail that circles the pond and provides a great way view nature. There's a reproduction of Thoreau's cabin near the entrance of the park and when you walk around the pond a marker commemorates the site of the original cabin.

Swimming
You know, although it is probably not well known - and I hesitate to announce to the world - the swimming at Walden is the best. The water is crystal clear, warm and deep. No fishing, no boats with a motor.
