We left Invergarry to visit Loch Ness - Nope didn't see it.... We tried! Went thru the visitor center which was informative. Now we are off to the Culloden battelfield. For those of you who do not know - This was the last hand to hand battle in Great Britain between the government and the Jacobites (Bonnie Prince Charlie - the true heir to the throne). Very moving.... They had a very detailed visitor center that showed every facet of the history and cause of the batlle which shaped religion, monarchy and europe itself. They also had a personal GPS system which described the battle in detail as you walked thru the battle field. It made that much more of an impact to stand where these men died. Stood beside the Campbell clan marker.
As we were leaving we saw a sign for the Clava Cairns. This is a prehistoric cemetery with standing stones. Amazing..
Now we are off to our hotel in Ballachulish - via Inverness. (got turned around in Inverness - road signs demand that you have split second reaction time) - Saw 2 stop signs!!!!! We must just be travelling the back roads to have missed stop signs.
As we enter the Glen Coe region the mountains and scenery have gotten even more dramatic if that is possible.
It is raining so the light was flat - I will try to get better pictures tomorrow as we leave.
Had dinner at the Clachaig Inn - vension casserole (Elke got a salad!!!), Haggis appetizer & Angus burger. This Haggis thing is really getting to me - it is great!!!
Tomorrow we are off to Inverarary, Campbell stronghold & headquarters and then to Girvan on the south west coast of Scotland.

Glad you like the haggis. It's one of my favourite foods.
