Well, on our way to Prague we had a 6 and a half hour lay over in Brussels, Belgium. So we thought ... instead of waiting around and falling asleep in the airport why not take advantage of the time we have and explore the city. So we caught a train to downtown and made it to the center of Brussels. Our main goal was very simple, find a place where we could have some excellent Belgium waffles. Considering we got there at 9am due to our early morning flight, we were in need of some breakfast. Anything beyond a fine Belgian delicacy would be bonus. Well, almost immediately after leaving the train station we could seriously smell waffles ... and after about 5 minutes of walking we had multiple options where the waffles were being served. We had a strawberry waffle and a chocolate waffle and man were they good ... and totally worth the 3 dollar ticket into down town!
After waffles we walked around and saw some sights. Considering the fact that we left the guide book for Western Europe back home we really did not know what we were looking for ... but it was fun.
We saw their main downtown plaza and a shopping area. Steph actually was approached twice by people asking her questions in French so she must have really looked like a local. haha!
