Boroka Look outBoroka Look outBoroka Look out

Nathan lookin at the spectacular views of Fog and low cloud at the Baroka Look Out in the Grampians.
Tonight we are camped just outside of Robe in SA. I can't say what its like yet, as we won't go there till tomorrow, I'll keep you posted.

Well where was I up to, I think my last blog was from Halls Gap which was really beautiful. We went on a few walks to see some waterfalls, which was great as they haven't run in awhile, but most of western Victoria seems to have been getting regular rain lately, just not enough to fill dams yet. We went to Boroka look out and to the car park up top of Mount William but as seen in the picture the view was only fog and low clouds, so we didn't get to see the spectacular views promised in the brochure! Oh well just means we will have to go back again 😊.

After leaving Halls Gap we traveled through Ararat and on to Warrnambool where we finished up on the Great Ocean Road last year. We both love Warrnambool!! Its got a beautiful ocean, great for surfing, fishing etc and the town( about the same size as Bundaberg) is surrounded by lush green Dairy properties full of black and white

Nathan and I went to look for Southern Wright Wales at the Warrnambool Whale Nursery look out but they haven't arrived yet (sometime in June they arive usually). Instead I took a picture of a guy in the tube.
cows, and rolling hills ........ I could go on lol.

After leaving Warrnambool we traveled through Port Fairy and then camped the night at a free camp site just south of Portland. It was a in a National park up ontop of a large hill over looking farm land and then the ocean, very pretty!

Portland was a nice town, quite similar to Warrnambool except it has a very large Port and mills and factories amongst it, but the town was still able to look apealing even with this.

After Portland we traveled into SA and stopped in Mount Gambier for a few hours this afternoon. We looked at the Blue Lake, which is a lake in the volcano, in the middle of the town. The water is very blue at certain times of the year, and bluey grey right now, it still looked really cool. We then got our mountain bikes and rode part way around another smaller lake next to the Blue Lake. It was very hilly so we both got a good work out, after so much time sitting in the car. Nathan then went on another ride down a proper mountain bike track,

very steep and skinny dirt track, much too scary for me lol.

And that leads us to now, just 14k's south of Robe, so till next time.......
