Hey all! So I have arrived safe and sound in sunny Nevada! It was actually really gorgeous weather when I got here last night... in the mid 70s and breezy. Don't know what sort of weather today holds though. So, the plane ride was smooth and uneventful. Those of you wondering how Southwest is... I give it an A+++. The whole crew was super friendly, and the head stewardess was HILARIOUS. she had the entire plane cracking up. It was great. Plus, checking baggage is freeeeeeee! One possible down side, they dont even offer a meal. But, they had plenty of snacks and drinks. So just make sure you bring food for a meal and you will be set! 😊 Kay, my plug for Southwest is over now. hehe.
Ya'll had told me what the Vegas airport would be like but I guess I didn't quite believe you. But you told the truth. I got off the plane and walked straight into slot machines. I thought it was kinda hilarious. The stewardess was telling us how just the other week she watched a woman get off the plane, put $20 in a slot machine (the maximum bet) and on the first spin proceeded to win $456,000. haha. Oh gambling.
I found Martin, the guy who was picking me up from the airport, fairly easily. He was very nice. My luggage came off right away and so it was smooth sailing. Henderson is even closer to Vegas than I had thought. Least it seemed to be a very quick ride. We stopped at a walmart supermarket on the way in so that I could get a few groceries to tide me over. Then we got to the apartment! I met 3 of my housemates, one of which had just arrived 30minutes before me, from San Francisco! They all seem very nice. I did not get to meet my roommate yet but I think she is leaving in a few days anyway. They went out since it was her last weekend here but I was so exhausted so I just stayed here and slept. 😊 The apartment itself seems nice enough. Theres a living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom and laundry. The bedrooms are tiny and there are no dressers which is a bummer, but I'll just have to get some hangers. The closet is quite large. And I don't have much stuff so it will be fine.
For some unknown reason I woke up at 7am this morning. What is up with that? I had gone to bed around 11:30. Yick. I tried to fall back asleep but it wasn't happening so I finally got up around 7:45. I have been informed that we will be meeting at 5am tomorrow morning so I'll probably have to get up at 4. So I was really hoping to get lots of sleep last night. Oh well. I'll try to get to sleep early tonight.
I'm going to leave it there for now. I gotta eat some breakfast and figure out what the day holds. Expect more exciting entries soon, once the internship actually starts for me 😊

ps for those of you who didn't figure it out, we have wireless at the apartment. So that is very good news indeed! 😊 still dont know about mailing address... I will keep you posted.
