Day 5.
I've noticed signs around the area stating this is Gaspe's 475th birthday. I'm no geologist but I think it's older. Just my opinion.
Today I decided I would stay put and just ride. I only got in 145km before the predicted afternoon showers arrived. I suppose I should have worn the full face today because rain drops hurt when they hit you at 100km/hr. Oh well, chalk it up to experience.
I started out riding back around to the North side of the Bay and into Forillon National Park. I rode to the end of the road where there is a 3Km walking trail to the tip of Cap-Gaspe and on a nicer day with proper shoes I might have done it but I know from past experience riding boots are not hiking boots. I headed back to town and did a loop of Riviere York before heading back to the campsite.
Oh and for dad, I found the end of the line.
Late night update;
I was sitting in the trailer doing my nails when I realized it was Friday and wondered "what's a girl to do on a Friday night in Gaspe?"
The rain had stopped
Forillon National Park
the tip of the Gaspe peninsula and the skies were clearing so I bundled up and headed into the downtown area. Sure enough I found a restaurant/bar that looked like the place to be. Upstairs I found the elusive home made hamburger and fry combo that seems impossible to find at home. All in with salad, Pepsi and tax... $7.90!
With a smile on my face (well, as much as I smile) and a full belly I went downstairs to the pub and had 2 more Pepsi's for another $8.00.
