Still no internet in the apartment, its set up but I cant type the user name and password without a korean key board, Mommy Teacher said she would work on it on Monday. Today is Sunday, and yesterday the teachers and six students went to Mommy and Father teachers cabin about halfway up a beautiful peak about twenty minutes outside of the city. It was advertised to me as a BBQ, and the food was good, but instead of a charcoal grill with a grate, we used a slab of granite on top of a propane burner. It was curious to me but worked well as the strips of pork sizzled in a salty aroma. The mountain house was lovely, with a shallow pool just below the front. I was told that Father Teacher owned the mountain the house sat on, and needless to say I was impressed. We hiked around and played board games after the meal, Father Teacher even had a netted enclosure for hitting golf balls. Me and a student, Matt (he is totally the teachers pet and I love him for it) hit some balls, and then got the rest of the students into a small game of soccer. I was tired when we got back into town, and wanted nothing more than to go home and take a nap. As I sauntered home at a slow pace, about a block from my destination, I heard a high pitched call of my name, 'Grant Teacha!' I turned and saw Claire, one of my kindergarten students waving at me. I said hello and waved and started to walk, and she called again, waving me over. I was tired and I almost just kept walking, but I pivoted and crossed the street. She jumped excitedly, said hi, and pointed to her Father, who introduced himself, and invited me to join them. I was still tired, and reluctant, but a feeling swept over me and I agreed, as soon as I did my tiredness faded. We went to a small restaurant and talked for a while, Claire doing her best to tell me about her little sister and new born brother who were there with her Father and Mother. The restaurant wasn't serving food so we got some cold drinks and talked for a while. I was glad I didn't decide to decline, as me and Claire's Father, Do decided to meet later that week for some dinner and drinks. Today I've been napping and reading. I did a little laundry, thinking about flying solo in the classroom tomorrow. A little nervous, but excited too, to really start teaching.
