Koh Phi Phi was our first stop on our two week island hopping adventure through southern Thailand! And it was beautiful! We spent our days walking through the town or on the beach, lazily floating in the ocean, sipping on cold mixed drinks and eating delicious thai food. And by night, well, we kind of did the same (with a few extra cocktails thrown in)! We did pull ourselves together for a day and went on a boat tour of the island, which was incredible. We went to several smaller islands surrounding Phi Phi, including Phi Phi Leh where they filmed the movie The Beach. The particular bay we went to, Maya Bay, was perhaps the most beautiful place we had ever seen. Since it is a protected national park, and no visitors are allowed to stay there overnight, the beach was pristine. The water was a beautiful shade of turquoise. And the high coves on either side provided a cozy, quiet shelter from the rest of the world. We loved it there. We then moved on from Phi Phi Leh with our boat tour and went snorkeling, searched for sharks and monkeys, and picnicked on Bamboo Island, where there seemed to be more fish than people swimming in the water! Take a look at the photos to see what we mean 😊
