Unfortunately we never made it Tiger temple as on the way back from 7-11 Tel managed to have an incident with a piece of pipe sticking up from the pavement, and yes you guessed it, the same toe, all over again! We weren't allowed to go to the temple in case the tigers smelled blood!!! So we spent a day at the Thailand Burma Railway museum which was much more informative than the weird one by the bridge! The museum had archives of the pow's stories and some of their personal artefacts and was very moving. After this we walked across to the Allied War Cemetary to pay our respects to those who lost their lives. We then went about an hour out of Kanchanburi to Hellfire Pass to the museum there and we also walked down to hellfire pass (Named so because of the creepy shadows that danced on the rocks when the fires were lit at night by the prisoners). From here we took a short trip down to Krasae cave where the locals put a Buddha inside the cave because for years after the war locals were haunted by disturbing noises saying the area was haunted by the prisoner of war's souls. We then took a trip along the death railway and finished at the bridge.
The next day we went to Erawan national Park that hosts a beautiful 7 tiered waterfall which you can swim in! there were some mean looking fish in the first 4 levels which were very happy to give you a free foot spa experience, they were a bit too big for my liking tho! The fifth level had brilliant slides which tel had to have a go at, i was a bit chicken though!!! We didn't make it up to levels six and seven as it was a pretty steep climb and what with the continuing toe situation we decided it was best/or we couldn't be assed!!! Was a lovely day though and we booked ourselves on an hour and half minibus to Bangkok for the next morning! Our first visit to bangkok, let the shopping commence!!!!!!!!
