Day 81 Brisbane
Today we headed south and ended up in the city centre of Brisbane. We eventually managed to park at the South Bank and walked along the river. It is a very popular part of the city as it has a man made beach and lagoon right on the riverside as well as lovely gardens and cafes. We spent a couple of hours there before finding a holiday park south of the city. Hideaway Holiday Park is located just off the Pacific Highway 12km from the city. We got lucky here as we decided to book in for 3 nights and then found out it was a nice place to stay with excellent facilities.

Day 82
Not much to write for today as we had a day of rest! We spent a leisurely day around the holiday park and enjoyed the pool and sunshine.

Day 83 Oli's 30th Birthday
After opening cards and presents Oli had a morning swim before we drove into Brisbane for a look around. Brisbane is the third largest city in Australia with a population of 1.8 million, it is a desirable place to live.
As
it was Sunday we could park on the side of the road, it was very busy so it took us a while to find a spot, at least we got to see the city at the same time. Once parked up we walked around the craft stalls at Eagle Street Pier and enjoyed a coffee before walking around the botanical gardens. We also sat for a while and watched some filming that was being doing in the centre of the city with a massive 7 metre doll walking down the streets!
We enjoyed an afternoon swim before getting ready to return to the city for a dinner cruise. I had booked for us to go on a Kookaburra River Queen paddle boat along the Brisbane river for the evening. We enjoyed a carvery and seafood buffet while seeing the sights of the city. Including the lit up Story bridge, the wheel on South Bank and the many skyscrapers of the CBD. The weather was perfect tonight and it was warm enough to stand on the top deck of the boat.
