Day 731 (30.03.09)

After getting a few things done in the morning we set off with Vic to explore town. We spent some time wandering around the grid of streets lined with grand white-washed buildings with ornate windows and lanterns hanging from each corner. Not a huge stop on the tourist trail it makes for a good place to wander and watch local life going on around you. There are also lots of things to do in the surrounding area and had we not already spent more time than we planned to in Colombia we might have stayed longer!

John joined us in the afternoon for more planned wandering but just as we set off it began to rain...and rain...and rain. Looking for a place to shelter we stumbled upon the local pool hall and dropped the average age by a fairly large proportion as we joined the old fellas for a few games and a few beers. It turned out to be a great place to spend a drizzly afternoon so maybe we can only suggest one thing to do when it rains as we didn't feel the need to search for more!

We spent another quiet evening in the hostel finding out some info about our planned journey the following day to San Augustin. Having travelled the area extensively Kim and Tony at Hostel Trail were really helpful and full of suggestions. We finished the day with a movie, very relaxing.
