This morning we flew into Siem Reap to see the Angkor temples in CAMBODIA! Once we got into Siem Reap and found a place to stay for the weekend, we went and got the most amazing pizza for lunch! It had mozzarella, feta, pesto, and bacon! YUM! Then we went up to the temple areas in Phnom Kulen, which is about 30 kilometers outside of Siem Reap. We first went to Kbal Spean, which is a river that has been carved with old pictures and gods-from the 9th century!! It was a 1500 meter hike through the jungle with the notice "please stay on the path, there are landmines"-ergo, a very comforting start to our templing! Well, the river carvings were really neat, I have never seen anything like them! then we went to Bateay Srey, and old temple which boasts some of the best carvings in the world! It was so ornate, it was breathtaking. We stopped at one more temple on the way back to Siem Reap, and saw a minute of the sunset. I cannot begin to describe these temples to you, they are only probably comparable to the pyramids! They are a definite must see before you die!!!! Simply amazing, words cannot do it justice, so enjoy the pictures!
