Saturday, February 7th, 2009 We had a spectacular rest on our big soft bed! When we went out for brunch we discovered that the Flower Festival was still going on. Some of the main roads were closed and big floats decorated with flowers rolled down the street, accompanied by marching bands. It was pretty cool. We found a little vegetarian restaurant and had massive veggie burgers.
That night we decided to head to the Night Bazaar, Chiang Mai's biggest tourist attraction. On the way we spotted a mall and decided to see if we could find DV tapes for our video camera. The place turned out to be 4 floors of PC and camera shops. We ended up buying an awesome tiny Acer laptop! It's gorgeous and now we have a place to store our pictures, blog in any wi-fi spot, and save a some money on internet expenses.
We went out to celebrate our purchase at a place called Red Machine and had one or two beers too many.
Today's highlights:
1. Massive Veggie burger and avo salad
2. Bought our first laptop
3. Found a cool trendy café to celebrate with beer

Oh, those beers was a bad idea! Talita had a touch of the flu and Ferdi just felt terrible! That'll teach us! We ordered room service in bed to get something in our stomachs.
The laptop runs Linux as an operating system so eventually we headed out in search of a wi-fi spot. We found a little coffee shop fairly close to our hotel with free wi-fi and spent the rest of the day there trying to get programs for Linux. After a frustrating day with little success we decided to go back to the shop and ask that they install Windows XP instead. They did it free of charge while we had a borito, a taco and some salad.
Today's highlights:
1. Room service breakfast in bed
2. Telling Siubhan and Tony about our laptop and they got one too
3. Went back to the PC shop and got Windows installed at no cost
