So since things have been a bit boring here in Priego, we decided to liven things up by having an 80's themed party. We invited teachers from our school as well as Cecilia's school. About 20 or so people attended, it was quite fun. We made jello shots since they had never heard of them. They were a big hit! We also taught them how to play "flippy cup" which is a game that has 2 teams in a line down the table and each person has a cup wiht a small amount of beer in it. You must drink the beer and then put the cup on the edge of the table and flip it over and get it to land upside down. After you do that, it is the next person on your teams turn. The team that completes it first wins. It was really fun. We had a request to make jello shots and do a botellon when it gets warmer. Some of the teachers dressed up, some didnt. But it was still a good time. We ended the night by going to our favorite bar Buddha where I am friends with the bartender. Fooseball is a VERY popular game here and they take it very seriously. I play with a guy a few weekends ago and of course i was terrible compared to all of them, so i got the boot. We played again last night and I actually did pretty well, so I redeemed myself! The evening was great and of course didnt end utill about 5am or so for me, 7am for others!

We figured out how to make brownies from scratch, so we had Erika, another auxiliar, over the other day to make brownies. We went to Christine and Evan's house for superbowl sunday. We made bean dip, meatballs, and Evan made his special chili. We had lots and lots of food and we had to go to a bar to watch the game because it wasn't on tv... but we just ended up talking and having fun so we never even watched the game.

Obama's inaguration was actually on TV, however dubbed in terrible Spanish. WE had a party at our apartment and watched it online and had champagne to celebrate. The Spaniards are very positive towards Obama and think he is going to do good things for the USA as well as its relationships with other countries. Most people here are supportive of Obama.

I started making Valentines bags with my 6th grade class last week and they absolutely LOVED it! i dont think i have ever cut out so many hearts. This week we will finish and i will be handing out valentines and candy from the USA which i am sure they will love. Next week Rachel and I switch schedules, so I will have a whole new schedule and all new classes. I will then be working with 3 year olds, 1, 2 and 5th grade. I am really going to miss my 4 and 5 year old students, they always make my day. But I am looking forward to a change.

Not much else to report... it has been quite cold and it has rained every day. I am ready for some new weather! I've just been going to the gym every day and trying to keep busy!

Sounds like you are corrupting those poor Spaniards with Jello shots and flippy cup! Next thing you know, you'll be playing the song "Roxanne" by the Police and half the room drinks when they say Roxanne, the other half when they say Red Light. (not trying to give you any ideas or anything...) haha
