Hi All,

I've finally been able to find an internet cafe so that I can now tell you about our trip so far.

We arrived in Cape Town at about 10.30 am on the 21st January after 30 hours of travelling (8 hours to Hong Kong, waiting 6 hours at the airport, 12 hours to Johannesberg, then 2 hours to Cape Town.) We stayed in a lovely hotel where we had a great view of Table Mountain as you can see from the picture.

We then walked around Cape Town which is just lovely and found the people really helpful and friendly.

It took us 5 hours to get to Riversdale as we had to go via Worchester and Robertson to pick up some flowers for the wedding. the countryside is lovely and very like Australia although the mountains are much bigger.

On the 22nd we drove to Riversdale and are now staying in a lovely farmhouse, which is a friend's weekender. See pictures.

It is now the 24th and the wedding is this afternoon at 4pm. Happy Birthday, mum! She's 83 today!

CAPE TOWN
Great photos of Cape Town, Jan, brought back lots of memories. Are those gum trees I can see in the background? John and I were in Cape Town in 1973, when it was a segregated city, so my impression of the Cape Town society is very different from yours BUT I agree the countryside was very similar to parts of New South Wales. Thank you for your blogs. LOVE ANN
