My last day in Washington. Unfortunately, I wake up late and need to eat breakfast in the hostel. I'm not looking forward to the great buffet they have here. I pack my things, check out of the hostel and catch a cab to Union Station. I must say that some of the buildings here in Washington are impressive. Union Station happens to be one of those buildings. It's unfortunate but I didn't take any pictures of the building or the interior. Note to self: take more pictures.

My trip back to NYC is uneventful. I met two Aussies on the train...damn Aussies seem to be everywhere. They are film makers and are in the US making a documentary about the US presidential election. That would be one very interesting film to watch. Too bad it will probably only air in Oz.

I get back to the hostel and join the lineup to check-in. After 45 minutes of waiting, I finally check-in and head to my room. My bed is free (Wooo Hooo!), but someone has put a lock on my assigned locker (damn it!). Hmmmm, there seems to be a theme going on here with me and lockers in this hostel...oh well, shit happens. I hit the front desk again and they give me another bed and room. This new room is actually better as it has air conditioning 😊. Looks like my luck is really turning around...or so I thought. When I finally go to bed, I can hear someone was snoring. I should have learned my lesson in Washington and bought a pair of ear plugs. Oh well, it's too late now and I only have two nights left before I head home. Hope my decision not to buy ear plugs doesn't come back to bite me in the ass...lol. Note to self: learn lessons quickly.

Travel Hint - Hostels
Invest in a wig, put on a disguise. Next time you go to a hostel, book into a female dorm. It's rarely a good experience bunking with males, believe me. I don't mean to stereotype, but in general, they snore louder than females and they are much messier!

Travel Hint - Hostels
ROFL! That's a great idea Wendy...except I don't think I would be a convincing girl. Do you have any more great ideas?
